WHAT’S GOING ON...AND WHEN Home Sunday Worship - 10:00 AM Our Sunday morning Worship Service is designed to be a time of renewal and refreshing. Calvert Community Church meets each Sunday morning at 10 at our developing 40 Acre Church Campus just outside Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown. Although we’re not in our new 5,000 square foot facility, our temporary meeting room is more than comfortable, and the Nurseries and Children’s Church programs have plenty of room for all their great activities. We encourage people to arrive a little early, giving them time to enjoy a cup of coffee and settle into the good seats (and we all know where they are) before the service begins. Parents of pre-school children can take advantage of our nursery program for infants and toddlers or are perfectly welcome to keep their little ones with them in the service. We are convinced that the occasional coo or cry of a baby in a church service must be beautiful music to God’s ears. The Sunday Morning Service usually starts with a quick reminder of calendar events and opportunities. Then we ramp things up with a couple of lively songs and a short prayer asking God to show us something special for that day. We continue our worship with the receiving of an offering. Each week it’s announced that the offering is for the regulars, and guests are invited to just sit back and relax. After another song, a solo, or video, the kids in Pre-K through Grade 6 are dismissed to join Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, and their other favorite VeggieTales characters for their Children's Church Program (remember, kids are always welcome to stay with parents if they want). Pastor Phil teaches for about 30 minutes. Phil’s teaching is always a positive application of Bible principles, often highlighted by video illustrations and always seasoned with plenty of humor. All the Bible selections are provided on study sheets and can be followed in the PowerPoint presentation. We like to end the service with yet another lively song. It helps catapult us into the opportunities of the coming week. Please know, Calvert Community Church may be one of the most casual churches you’ll ever attend. Please dress comfortably. For some, that means jeans or shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. Others like to dress-up a bit more. Whatever is comfortable for you makes us happy. Please be assured that Sunday morning guests are never put on the spot. We pray that we meet new people each week and see each guest as a divine appointment. We surely don’t want to do anything that would keep anyone from coming back. We never ask visitors to stand or speak – we don’t even make you wear a badge or sign. We would like to contact you again (by email or mail) and ask that you complete a communication card. Even then you don’t have to if you don’t wish to. No “salesman” will ever call.
First Sunday Evening - 6:00 PM Calvert Community Church gets together each first Sunday evening of the month for an extra time of fellowship, worship, and celebration of the Lord’s Table.
Small Groups Several Small Groups meet in various neighborhoods throughout the county. The groups are usually based on a topic study. Groups schedules vary. Email for current scheduling.
